HAIKU

Old folks are like kids:
very short attention spans.
God don't seem to mind.

HAIKU

Old, young: A.D.D.
Only mid-aged can focus.
God don't seem to mind.

HAIKU

Vanity plates seen:
BRONX NY in Illinois,
RD RAGE tailgating.

HAIKU

Some days just don't work:
frazzled, tepid prayerlessness.
Everything is wrong.

HAIKU

If our humanstuff
was God-incompatible:
Incarnation? Not.

HAIKU

Some days just don't work:
grasping, zealous prayerlessness.
Everything is wrong.

MY FIRST HAIKU EVER

O how I do think
of how happy life would be
if I could go home.

--Written in 6th grade French class, Chenery Middle School, Belmont, MA, while staring out the window. First rumblings of eternity.

HAIKU

I'm like a wombat:
nocturnal animal,
eve restivity.

ALMOST HAIKU

Can't say it's better
but you country folk don't have
wet pavement smell after rain.

HAIKU

O God I'm stalling,
putting paperwork twixt us.
I want more Earth time.

HAIKU

I'm so sorry, God,
for just horizontal thoughts
like this one right here.
